We select teachers who inspire
We select teachers who deliver inspiring workshops and perform dazzling cabarets. But just as important, teachers who love their dancing and get out on the social dance floor with all of you.

So where are Gary & Sara on this list? Unfortunately, Sara can't make it but we will be having the pleasure of Gary Boon with Bic Graham providing the best swing music anywhere. David Zilkha heads the Blues DJ lineup and, of course, we'll be having some special guests doing their bit to make your evenings fantastic.
More About The Teachers
Skye Humphries & Marie
Skye is one of the best swing dancers in the World to ever be originally pressured into swing dancing by his mum. He is also one of the best swing dancers in the World, full stop. Having won many of the highest awards in swing dancing, including the World Lindy Hop Championships in 2002 and several titles at the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown in 2005, his unique style, musicality and energy is inspiration to dancers across the world.

Skye is an internationally renowned dancer, instructor and competitor. He emphasizes fun, energetic social dancing with strong partner connection, solid technique, innovative moves, and musicality. Skye was a founding member of the award winning Lindy Hop dance troupe Minnie's Moochers, and has taught and performed Lindy Hop at major dance events and dance camps, all over the world.

At Rock Bottoms, Skye will be teaching with Marie of 'Hasse & Marie' fame.

Remy Kouakou Kouame (France)
As an established competitor, Remy has earned many awards such as the French and the World Championships of Boogie Woogie. He has been an established teacher for many years now, travelling around many international camps and festivals, sharing his passion and knowledge. What he likes to share the most is the joy that dancing provides. Then he is fighting against intellectualization of the dance and argues for fun and feelings. For him, dancing is to live, to express!

Hasse & Marie (Sweden)
Hasse and Marie are internationally recognized for their high energy and spirit as Lindy Hop dancers and instructors. Their classes emphasize the use of musicality, technique and partner connection. Energy and focus on fun are constant elements to every class.

This couple have a lot of teaching experience, all from beginners to competition couples, and they appear on the teaching line up for many established camps around the globe, including Herräng (Sweden), Camp Hollywood (USA) and Rock That Swing Festival (Germany) just to mention a few.

Hasse and Marie live just outside Stockholm, Sweden. They have been dancing together for many years and are four times Swedish Champions in Boogie Woogie (1998- 2001) and also one time Swedish Champions in Bugg (2001).

Today they are no longer competing together, but every once in a while you´ll see them entering Jack 'n' Jills, Intergenerationals and balboa competitions - being very successful. They are doing their best to learn more about dancing and to spread their knowledge and passion for Swing dancing to others.

Gloria & Albert (Balboa)
Gloria and Albert have been dancing Balboa since 1999 and teaching regular Balboa courses and workshops since 2006. On the dance floor they are known for their strong musicality and their creativity. While teaching they always try to find a good balance between Pure-Bal and Balswing by combining both techniques in their dancing.

Besides Balboa, Albert also dances salsa and traditional Catalan dances. His first contact with swing dancing was in around 1999. Gloria has a background in Cuban salsa and ballroom dancing. Like Albert she started with swing dancing in 1999, also doing the Charleston and jazz dancing.

Mel and Jo Calanglang (Balboa)
Mel and Jo are dance enthusiasts who have been dedicating their time and efforts to encouraging Balboa dancing in the United Kingdom. Within Europe, they currently social dance and participate in competitions. They are also teaching local workshops in the United Kingdom. Being familiar with Lindy-Hop and Blues, their current love is in mastering Balboa and Bal-swing, a journey in forever learning.

They were placed 1st in Swing Patrol's London Jitterbug Championships in the 'All Balboa Jam 2011' category, proving they certainly know their stuff!

David Zilkha & Minh Hai Tran (Blues)
At Rock Bottoms, David will be teaching blues classes in the evenings before going on to DJ in the Blues Room.

David has been teaching blues for over five years in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. He was one of the founders of the Blues Revolution (the most established blues dancing organisation in Europe) and has recently founded Swing Dance Bristol.

Before his overnight conversion to blues many years ago, he had a background in contemporary dance which taught him how to use and be in control of the dancer's weight and centre and was a perfect preparation for partner dancing.
