At this weekend we have teachers who deliver inspiring workshops, perform dazzling cabarets, and obviously love their dancing and get out on the social dance floor with all of you.
The tango teachers we have for you this weekend so far are Jenny & Ricardo (Scotland, UK), Rene & Hiba (Argentina & UK), Steve Hunt (UK) and Warren (UK). |
Jenny Frances and Ricardo Oria love tango - its music, its song, and its dance. They love the moment of surrender in the arms of your partner, the feeling of losing yourself and yet finding yourself at one with the music, at one with your partner, at one with yourself. They are proud to be part of the tango community: a rich culture steeped in history, which is still of relevance today and continues to grow.
Jenny and Ricardo love dancing together on a crowded floor (or on an empty floor) and hope to transmit some of this through their performances and through their teaching.
Jenny and Ricardo came together in 2002 and since then they have been invited to teach and perform in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain, Germany and Argentina.
They also organise and participate in the annual 'Bailongo! Tango Festival' in Edinburgh.

René and Hiba have been working together since 2008 when they established Tango-Fever in London. In all their classes, they strive to create a relaxed and friendly environment where students can be active, be social and learn how to dance Argentine Tango!
They bring together their individual backgrounds in Ballroom and Latin dances followed by many years of dancing and teaching Argentine Tango, learning with some of the most renowned and influential Argentine Tango teachers in Argentina as well as in Europe.
Since forming their tango partnership they have taught and performed all over the world including the DNI tango school in Buenos Aires.
In their teaching, they focus on the skills that will enable the students to create and enjoy their own dance: musicality, and a clear understanding of the concepts of leading and following. Their foundations are traditional but their methods embrace modern techniques and natural, organic movement.

Steve discovered Modern Jive in 2004 having previously danced Salsa, Tango and ballroom dancing. The variety, freedom and musicality that MJ offered due to the wide range of music that was played was the thing that Steve found most appealing.
Steve became a fully qualified CTA Modern Jive Teacher and established a strong following when he began teaching at Ceroc London's most popular venue 'ISH' on a Tuesday night attracting upwards of 200 dancers every week.
Steve then proceeded to undertake intensive tuition from the best West Coast Swing teachers in America and undertook a World Swing Dance Council accredited Teaching Training programme ran by the famous 'Skippy Blair' and is now the 2nd highest ranked Male Swing dancer in
the UK. To date Steve has
competed in 25 American WSDC affiliated events including the US Open and has made Jack and Jill finals on
no less than 22 occasions. He competes against champions level dancers in the All Star division and has won numerous Strictly Swing categories.
In short, during this weekend you'll be learning from one of the best in the World!
Warren has been partner dancing man and boy for more than 20 years. He has taught many different styles including Modern Jive, Swing and Blues but it is Argentine Tango where he has now focussed his teaching energies. Since founding the TangoBootCamp, Warren has helped introduce well over 1,000 people across the country to Argentine Tango. He also teaches his own classes 3 nights a week in Sussex and his style which combines technical clarity, humour and passion has developed a substantial loyal following. He will quickly demystify this challenging dance and have total beginners confidently dancing a reasonable standard by the end of the weekend. He also promises to excite and challenge intermediate dancers with some interesting technique and sophisticated figures.
